Today God has put the song, In Christ Alone, in my mind and heart. What a God we have! Only He has power over death.
In Christ Alone, my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song.
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease.
My Comforter, my all in all,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Til on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of was satisfied.
And all my sins on Him were laid,
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me,
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck my from His hand.
Til He return or call me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

Alicia-- I too was reminded of this song. I listen to it on my way to work many mornings to get my focus in the right place before I begin my day. It is an inspiration to do what God has for me right now.

We sang this song at church today. What a beautiful testimony of the greatness of our God! It always makes me cry!
Hey Elaine, I was just going to say that myself..even the making me cry part. It is such a beautiful reminder of all that Christ has done for us!
Our "new" music pastor (been here a year already) just taught this song to our choir, and soon our church will learn it for congregational singing. I am ecstatic! This is one of my all time favorites. Gives me goosebumps. This one and "Before the Throne" I'll have to post the words on my blog. You'll like it too.
I love this song! We sang all of the stanzas as our closing song yesterday at church! What a neat way to put the story of Christ's death, life and resurrection! I love that message in song; thanks for sharing!
Wow, we sang this at our church yesterday-too - I'm seeing a common theme... What a blessing it was! It states so eloquently the power of the cross.
