This morning while Chloe practically choked on her phlegm, we made an appointment to see her doctor. This cold was just hanging on too long and looking severe. After a very quick perusal by Dr. Kline (the world's fastest pediatrician), he informed us that Chloe had fluid behind her left ear. Antibiotics were prescribed and now Chloe is a happy camper again! I'm AMAZED at how quickly those buggers work! What a miracle drug!
Now the only issue is my health. I've been coughing hard, sneezing, and blowing my nose constantly today. I feel lousy. I'll be forced to call my doc tomorrow if things get worse (I'm anti-doctors for things like this but with the pregnancy I want to be sure all is ok for baby #2).
I think Matt must have felt left out because he came down with the beginnings of sinus infection yesterday. So, we made an appointment for him and he's on some strong meds to get him well again. He's feeling better already - yay!
A trio of sickies we are. Now we're all praying we can refrain from infecting Matt's visiting folks!

Please say Hi to Hermana Horn--I am from her home church in Mission. ;)Karen (Hernandez) Costales
Hi Alicia - so sorry that you are all sick! :-( I'll be praying that you feel better soon! My dr. said over the counter Claritin was safe in pregnancy - it might be worth a query to your doc! :-)
I took Sudafed with both Kayla and this pregnancy. I didn't want to even though the doctor said it was safe; I wanted to tough it out just to be be completely safe... I got to the point, though, where I was just too miserable and took it and felt so much better as it relieved my symptoms. I also had to take Benadryl for several days in a row -- and you know how strong that stuff is -- at the beginning of the pregnancy when I had the hives so bad. Again, the doctor said it was safe, and again, I really didn't want to take it, but I couldn't stand the itching -- I was literally pacing and climbing the walls. I understand the position you're in, and I just prayed that you would have peace whichever way you decided to go (and that you would get well without having to make the decision). :-)
You poor things! Having sick ones around is one thing, but BEING sick is another. I also took Sudafed and regular strength Tylenol with Aaron and doc said both were safe. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to make yourself better so that you can deal with a toddler and husband and be pregnant all at the same time! I'll pray that you get better soon! Yes, we hope that it doesn't spread to your company either! Take care my friend!
Thanks for all the good advice, ladies! I talked with my doc this morning and she said otc sudafed or tylenol cold would do the trick and be safe.
yikes! you sure are going through the sickies! hope you all feel better soon! maybe you should all chase each other around with lysol as an alternative for water guns for fun! :)
sorry you have been sick. It's hit here too! It seems the entire camp staff/campers...are bringing in bronchitis, strep, colds..etc. And with the varrying weather, we've been sick too. It's one thing when it's just yourself, but when the kiddos get it....look ouT---NO SLEEP!
I am excited for you to have felt the baby kick. How far along are you? I was 16 weeks with my kids. By about the 20th with the twins, I was watching my stomach mover. Should've triggered a thought of TWINS :) Love you and will be praying for Chloe's ear infection to heal quickly.
Awww, so sorry to hear you are all sickies!! I'm glad Chloe is feeling better since starting the antibiotics, too. You probably already know this, but it's a good idea to give her a lot of yogurt while she's on them, to help build back up the good bacteria in her system (if she likes yogurt, that is!). I hope you all will be back to 100% ASAP!! :)
I'm so sorry to hear that you are all sick. Glad that Matt and Chloe are on the upswing. I'll be praying that you follow them very soon.
