Tonight we braved the costumed-crowd for Chloe's first trick-or-treat outing of the season.I know I'm biased, but she was seriously the cutest kid out there with the most adorable costume (a green bay packer player and cute little girl bumblebee tied for second in my mind). Out of hundreds of dressed-up kids she was the only cow we saw! There was an abundance of witches, pirates, grim reapers, star wars soldiers and hippies though.
Chloe caught on to the whole put-candy-in-my-bucket scene. After each store she'd say, "Another one store, please" in her mixed up toddler grammar way. We've decided we'll let her have 1-2 pieces of her candy a day. How do you handle the abundance of candy your kids rake in for Halloween?

Wow - she is SO adorable! What a cute outfit!! I'd give her extra candy if she came to my house (I give out extra only to the truly cute kids!!)
SO cute! I am so nervous about Trick or treating with Gavin this year. I am affraid that he will freak out from the scarey costumes and decor.
In the Martha Stewart magazine it suggested putting left over chocolate candy in the center of cup cakes. It sounds like a yummy idea to me! Of course it just adds extra calories - but maybe you could take them to a neighbor!

Aw, she is cute! Be sure to let us know what you decide to do with the surplus of candy!! We won't be going out this year, but I'm sure we will need to know some good ideas for the future!
She is an adorable cow. And I know I can be assured that she is one of those Wisconsin cows, not one of those horrible California cows! (Don't you get so angry when you see those commercials?:)
We let Luke have a few pieces a day, and, um, help ourselves too. :) After a while, he forgets about it (because I keep it out of sight), and I end up tossing the rest - probably the least desirable pieces anyway.
Does Chloe mind putting a costume on? For some reason, Luke isn't crazy about it. I have to tell him he won't get chocolate without the costume. :)

We don't take Michael Trick or Treating but his daddy has a sweet tooth and buys candy corn and caramels this time of year. We give him a few now and then but my hubby usually eats them when Michael is not around.

The surplus could be used for ice cream toppings, upcoming holiday baking (small snickers or reese's cups baked into pb cookies is sooo good!), donate to your church's SS or children's programs, and since you started a little early, you can hand out some of hers on Halloween instead of buying more candy.
I echo everyone else's comments. She is soooo cute! And you are too although I expected you to be showing more at this point.
Not sure if we'll be trick or treating this year -- it will depend on when the baby comes.
She does make an absolutely adorable little cow!!! And her little pink clogs even match! Great costume!
We usually give Aaron a few pieces a day also and enjoy some of them ourselves, because who can resist candy sitting there for the taking! We usually don't keep candy around so it's not tempting for any of us. I do like the idea of either using it for baking or simply giving it away to others. Although this year may be different with Halloween being on a Wednesday night. Do let us know what you end up doing with it!
THe pumpkin was a little soft so Mike was concerned about eating the insides. no pumpkin sees this year.
