Trick-or-treating in our city was Saturday evening. And it was a wet drizzly cold evening! Lots of Halloween ambiance. :)Chloe didn't seem to mind the weather since she was purely motivated by her love of candy.
Not many kiddos braved the weather so our neighbors were incredibly generous with their candy-doling-out. So now we have oodles of candy to share! Anyone want a dum-dum?
Chloe's costume this year cost us all of $2. I snagged the outfit for a buck at a summer yard sale and then we spent another dollar on devil horns headband. I then sewed white and black felt over the evil red horns, removed them and put them on one of Chloe's fabric headbands. Her "milk" bucket was leftover from last Easter and I printed out the letters from the computer and taped them on.

Aw, she is the cutest! I love your ingenious re-purposing, too! Aaron isn't trick or treating this year - for one, he definitely isn't old enough to eat candy (IMO) and I would end up eating it all (BAD NEWS) Plus, we lead the junior high youth group functions on Wed. night, so this Halloween will be church time for us!
P.S. - did you go with us in Niagara that one year or was it just Sarah & Treas?
Our trick-or-treating is tomorrow night, but we started off our Halloween festivities tonight with our pumpkin carving. Luke will be Mr. Incredible tomorrow. He hasn't watched the movie, but has the book, a Mr. I. figure and just likes superheroes! He'll get to wear his costume a lot because we're going to Halloween storytime at the library, and then to the mall, plus going out in the evening.
Great job with the costume! I have not been very thrifty or inventive with Luke's costumes so far. Chris' mom wanted to buy Luke one this year. Maybe next year . . .

We didn't really go trick or treating this year. We'll be in church on Wednesday night. But we always have what they call "Family Fun Night" at our church where they have "Trunk or Treat". The families decorate the trunks of their cars or back of their trucks and then park around the parking lot and then the kids go from car to car getting candy. Then we go inside for chili, hot dogs, and other goodies. This year Aaron went as Aaron in the Bible. The costume was so quick, easy, and inexpensive. I'll probably post a picture soon so you can see it. I didn't want to spend the money on a costume this year even though they had some pretty adorable ones out there. Aaron won't know the difference either. He was just happy to get the candy!
Chloe is darling in her costume! I'm sure she charmed lots of candy out of lots of folks.
I don't have any kids to dress up, but on a whim I went trick or treating myself last night. I rustled up a Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz) costume - can you believe that my closet actually had the random things needed for that??? And my friend Justin put on a rubber face with a Colts jersey & we were ready to hit some friends homes. Good times :-) Sadly, I didn't take any pictures...
