A broken air conditioner

Here in my mom's 2nd story condo, the air conditioner decided to take a vacation. On Sunday, when temps reached the upper 80s and low 90s, my mom turned on the air conditioner with hopes of cool relief. What she got instead was hot blowing air. She continued to let it blow for a few hours hoping it would kick into gear. We sweltered and waited for the sun to go down and I complained.

What did people do before air conditioning? The thing is still broken and my mom has been an example to me of contentedness. We were all dripping with sweat yesterday (I took 3 cold showers, yes, 3) and I was groaning and moaning but my mom didn't "sweat" it. (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun). Thinking about it this morning, I realize that I have MUCH to be thankful for so I should shut my trap and stop my whining. The blessings greatly outweigh the one little tiny bummer of being hot and sweaty.

Here are some things I'm thankful for:
1. A healthy mind and body
2. Never having to worry about having enough food
3. A loving non-abusive family
4. Shelter
5. A beautiful, happy baby girl
6. The privilege of staying home and caring for my Chloe
7. A generous kind mom who lets me & Chloe take over her home and buys me sprecher's and olives stuffed with blue cheese
8. A peaceful nation (within itself I mean)
9. FANS
10. Sons of Korah cds that Jer gave us (AMAZING!?! I highly recommend them)

What are you thankful for today?

I'm thankful to be home!
I'm thankful for the daily benefits the Lord gives to us every day.
I'm thankful for my hard-working husband, and beautiful daughter Esther.
And now...I'm REALLY thankful for our air conditioner! :)

I am so thankful for the Lords provision. It is so hard for me to say that...but I truly am!! He knows what is ahead for me and Kevin. I just have to continue to rely on Him for EVERYTHING. The next two weeks will be hard, but He does know what is best.

I am thankful for a loving and hard working husband. Kevin knows that our future is in the unknown right now so he is working harder than ever at getting more work. Even in this heat...he is putting on two new roofs for customers!!

I'm thankful for the zoo! God's creatures are amazing. And as I sit here at my computer downloading pictures from the hot hot day, I am so thankful for the air conditioner as well!

Hi friend, When do you see Matt again? 10 days as well? I was at the park today with Ashton and I said, "I know your cousin, Chloe." She smiled real big and said, "Chloe? AAAAHHH!" Does she know her, or is she a good actress?

I can Sympathize with you over the broken air conditioner. Our house was 86 inside the other night! I thought we were going to die! =)
But like you, I thought of things to be thankful for:
That we own a house (even if it is hot)
That we can grill food this summer! Yum!
For my loving husband who does his best to make the house cool!
For my family
For my frineds
For my salvation
For the freedom of our country.
Thanks for the reminder and hopefully things are cooling off a little bit for you.

Ugh...I understand, Alicia! Thankfully, we have a working AC unit in our living room, but our bedroom upstairs is truly unbearable as yet (I'm guessing 90+ degrees.). I'm thankful, too, for a wonderful family about to grow bigger, my country, a great job, and God's Word!

I'm thankful for my Dad who stopped by Calgary today on business, and all he wanted to do was take me shopping to buy a new outfit. So nice. It was wonderful to see him.
