Back online after a week-long absence

I forgot to tell you all that my mom was coming for a long weekend visit. And that explains my recent lack of blogging. Instead I spent my time enjoying my mom (we played 4 games of scrabble, did the Sunday crossword together, shopped, and sewed kitchen curtains) and took a break from the computer.

Chloe and grandma had a grand time together! They had a special evening alone so Matt and I could go on a date (YAY!). They also enjoyed dancing, playing, coloring, and reading lots of books together.

Unfortunately, we didn't get many good photos of our creative 18 mos. old Chloe. She's extremely aware of our camera and as soon as she spots it she races over to see the picture display on the back. Here are a few of our best shots.

Elmo mesmerizes Chloe.

Fishies! Fishies!

My mom just beamed with pride when Chloe wanted a purple balloon (my mom's favorite color) at Applebee's! And boy did Chloe impress the waitresses when she pointed and said "pah-pull".

Chloe and her cool Subway backpack.

What am I doing? Duh, mom, as anyone can see I'm obviously scooping up snow and putting it into my tupperware bowl to save for later. Do I have to explain everything to you?

Those are great pictures. I'm glad you had a good visit with your mom. Chloe is looking older. Maybe it's her longer hair??

Shannon: I KNOW! She's definitely looking older - I think it's her hair and her height. She's off the charts tall for her age and most people think she's 2 or older, not 1.5.

Janelle: Thanks, it's good to be back to blogging again! It is SO TRUE (as I'm sure you're seeing with your kiddos) that time goes by as light-speed with a child. Although I didn't always think that when she was a crying 5 week old.

I agree--I couldn't believe how long her hair is in the pony tail! She's a cutie. Way to go....purple? She's brilliant :) glad you're back.

Kayla has one of those Subway backpacks too and loves it especially when I put in on her stomach instead of her back so she can wear it and take stuff out of it at the same time. :-) So glad you had a great time with your Mom; isn't is so fun seeing Chloe interact with her?!
