Playoff hopes and sock monkeys

How many of you are watching the playoffs this weekend? We're rooting for the Saints and the Patriots to win. (Rationale: The Patriots are a classy team and we are annoyed by Peyton Manning's many dumb endorsements and commercials. Da Bears are the Packers' worst enemies so we abhor them and the Saints are a hardworking Cinderella story of a team. Have you seen that Reggie Bush run? Wow! Too bad he seems to be a mite full of himself.) Who would you like to see square off in the super bowl?

The pictures below are completely unrelated to the playoffs. Unless sock monkeys and football have something in common . . . I suppose both footballs and sock monkeys are sewn together. Aha!

Anyways, my dear sister made this cool sock monkey for Chloe for Christmas. Today Chloe woke from her nap and desperately wanted her monkey to accompany her downstairs. So, Chloe and her monkey shared a snack. Very cute.

Enjoy your weekend activities whether they include football or not!

I'm rooting for the Saints also, but I have to admit I am a Peyton Manning fan and therefore like the Colts. Wasn't that a great game with the Bears and the Packers? Did you see Favre at the end interview about his thoughts for the future?

You're a Peyton fan, eh? He really is a great player he just gets under our skin a bit.

Oh my, that Packers/Bears game was the BEST game ever!!!! Boy, if Favre does retire that was a perfect last game of his career. It felt so good to whoop up on the Bears so completely. Favre is such a classy guy. I hope he returns next year!

I must say I'm going for the Colts and the Bears. Of course, it helps that I'm originally from Indianapolis and then we're basically Chicagoans living this close to the city. Sorry to root against you Alicia! =)

WHAT astonishingly adorable pictures! (And your sister is talented--that monkey is cute!) Chloe is very generous to share her snack with him.

I can't say much about the football part of your post--I can't bring myself to care. But I do adore those pictures.

Hope your teams do win.

Boooo!!! Go Colts!!! :o) Seriously, I'm not much of a football fan, but it's still kinda fun when your hometown team has a shot! I like Peyton Manning too. I think his "corny" commercials are funny - maybe b/c in all of the immorality and immaturity that we see in the sports world, he seems to have it together. Anyway, I like that he is not a good actor and doesn't take himself seriously :o)

Tricia: We'll see who comes out on top tomorrow! I can't believe you're a bears fan. YUCK! Grossman's going to collapse under the pressure. :) Hopefully.

Becky: Sorry to hear you haven't been bitten by the football bug. But you don't have a good team down there to root for anyways. :)

Sarah: You make a really good point about Peyton's commercials. He does seem to be a down-to-earth regular sort of guy. Isn't it awful the way some of the players promote themselves and showboat?

i guess i understand your emotional bid for the saints....however, they beat our eagles so i will not be cheering for them! :) So there! LOL

Hey, Nathan had a sock monkey when he was little and i wanted to get him one for christmas for fun. Where did your sister get her pattern? I couldn't find one.

Sorry your day of football viewing had to be so sad. Go Colts (for winning tonight) and "Bear down, Chicago Bears" for the SuperBowl! I do hope you had a great day, in spite of the football. =)
