While grocery shopping the other day, the notion struck me that my grocery list is pretty much the same each and every week. (You all probably already realized this about yourself; I'm just a slow learner).Constants on my weekly list include: spinach, carrots, broccoli, avocados, pretzels, yogurt, wheat crackers, and bananas. Regardless of the season, we always get those items weekly.
Now I'm curious. What are your weekly grocery staples?

Romaine, tomatoes, bananas, sale/seasonal fruit, frozen spinach or broccoli, V-8 Fusion or Healthy Harvest, eggs, cheese, milk and my hubby's diet Mt. Dew. I curious to see what others will write down:).
Bananas, seasonal fruit, cereal, milk, lunch stuff...usually includes granola bars, applesauce and deli meat, wheat bread, any meat on sale and of course we can not forget the diet mt. dew. That is Kevin's treat. ;)
Good question...i like you find that I buy the same stuff and usually think "what can i make that is new"
I almost always get whatever fruits are on sale, tortillas, eggs, milk and romaine lettuce. Those are really the only constant things I can think of. Our menu varies greatly week to week as I follow a cookbook and make whatever it says (helps us expand our horizons), so that dictates the rest of my list. It's fun to see what everyone else does!
whole wheat bread and tortillas, milk, eggs, yogurt, cereal, cheese, lunchmeat, red/green leaf lettuce, bananas, grapes, broccoli, bell peppers, other sale produce/fruit, Edie's Slow Churned Ice Cream (hopefully on sale), FV Creamer - I've been so thankful and proud of Aldi lately. Their line "Fit & Active" (I think that's what it's called) now includes a lot of healthier versions. They just got whole wheat pasta at my store - at least 3 different varieties! I wsa SO excited. Just one less thing that I have to get at another store, and for a higher price.
Milk, OJ, other juice, cereal, lettace, cheese, Cookies, Chips, bananas.
spinach, tomatoes, onions, carrots, bananas, grapes, and whatever other produce happens to be on sale...milk, eggs, cheese, wheat bread, spaghetti sauce, spaghetti, chicken, and canned peaches (for my smoothie addiction)
romaine, apples, carrots, cereal, milk, granola bars, whole wheat bread, eggs, cheese, & deli meat. I think we're stuck in a rut!
Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, onion and milk. Everything else is determined by the the menu for the weeek... I try to keep this varied.
You guys are all just too "healthy" for me!! :o)
Yeah, what's with all the romaine and spinach? I just read an interesting article (on MSN Men's Health)entitled 'the 10 best foods you're not eating.' Interesting because out of those 10, Polish people eat regularly about 7 of those, so those foods are everywhere and cheap. But does anyone know what in the world Swiss chard, purslane, and goji berries are?? - sarah l
The only things we "have" to have on hand are tortillas in both white and wheat and (as I found this week when we ran out after all the grocery budget was spent) canned tomato products such as sauce and diced. I use a lot of canned tomato stuff, apparently. :-) We usually buy salad fixings and whatever fruit happens to be on sale. Always bananas, for Aaron, who asks for them by name and with MUCH enthusiasm. Everything else kind of ebbs and flows with the sales. We live 40 miles from an Aldi, so my trips there are few and far between. Unfortunately.
As I sit here making my grocery list for the week, I too am a repeating grocery list maker!! We get most/all of our meat in bulk at Costco and freeze in individual portions. I also get all my canned tomato stuff (diced, sauce, paste) at Costco when I have coupons for buy one case, get one case free! I also get the shredded cheese in bulk and sort out in 1 pound packages and freeze. I'm so thankful for my deep freeze!! The other staples we get are salad mix, potatoes, milk, eggs, bread, orange juice, and pet treats :-) I have been going to the farmer's market this summer for my produce (tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, cabbage, eggplant). I usually buy soda when it is on sale at Kroger and they have the 4 or 5 12-packs for $10 - I usually will go twice that week and stock up at that price!
There are only 2 of us at home and we tend to stock up when things are on sale, so we don't need to buy things like bread, milk and eggs every week as a family would.
Here's what's on our list *every* week: muffins (yes, we buy the store bakery muffins for a weekend treat!); bananas, and lemons.
