Unlikely car blasting music

On our way home from a fabulous Target shopping trip tonight, Chloe and I waited at a crowded intersection for the light to turn green.

As is usually the case during the warm summer months, we often hear neighboring car radios blaring their chosen music. Typically I ignore the noise but tonight I erupted in smiles as I started singing along to the very loud music coming from the black sedan next to us in the roadway.

The driver of the car was singing along happily as he blasted the surrounding airwaves with "Do a Deer" from the beloved musical, The Sound of Music.

How refreshing, fun-spirited and joy-inducing! Here's hoping others follow in his musical-blaring footsteps. :)

Our car radio doesn't even work but if it did my number one blasting music of choice is the oldie, "Buttercup". Can't you just hear the lyrics, "Why do you build me up? Buttercup baby just to let me down? And mess me around . . . "

What music do you choose when the car windows are rolled down on a summer evening?

This was my sisters favorite movie when she was 3 and 4 and watched it more than once a week I'm sure. I almost always have a Pettit team, or Wilds music in but still play it load and sing out if the windows are open. My favorite CD right now is Gentle Voice by Matt and Christy Taylor

I have children who in the past have made light of my lack of singing ability, so I am at time a bit shy about singing out. Though I am getting over that, I tend to sing out loud when I am walking with my Mp3 player and let the good citizens of Thiensville think I am a bit daft.
Luis also helps when he just tells me, "sing it Cheryl" of course he can't sing any better than I. A good tune for me to let loos in the car is Smooth by Santana

I am a car singing fool. I love to hook my ipod up (for long trips) and let it pick music randomly. That way I get everything from Wilds music to Sound of Music (yes, it's on there!) to oldies to country. My music tastes are wildly various so you never know what might come on next ;-) It's like having my own personal radio station!

Oh, man, I can totally hear "Buttercup" blasting... that song has some sentimental significance for me since it's the first (and for a while the only) song John ever sang to me. It always makes me grin!

I'm currently blasting Michael Buble's "Everything" and "I'm Comin Home", but last week it was "Dancing Through Life" and "Popular" from _Wicked_. I love to blast songs that just make me giggle. :)
