In answer to your questions, our Chloe has proven to be an affectionate big sis to her new baby brother. She LOVES kissing and hugging on him. I'm sure he'll grow to like it but right now he squirms up his face and usually cries when she plants a big wet kiss on his cheek.The transition has been a hard one for Chloe. I'm afraid I didn't prep her mentally for all that was to take place with Clive's birth. Sure we read our big sister and make-way-for-baby books but other than that all she knew was that baby Clive would come out of my tummy at the hospital.
With Clive's homecoming, Chloe regressed mainly in the area of whining/crying and potty-training. I'm so thankful that little kids are so malleable! Already Chloe's acting more like herself as we settle into the new routines of a family of four. And potty-training is coming back slowly but surely. I just have to consistently remind her or she forgets and has an accident. And she continues to go #2 on the potty so I feel like we're striding forward!

anyways, that's great to hear that she's settling in a routine with her new baby brother. i've been trying to talk to Esther about the baby brother, but she thinks of it like a baby boy doll that she has. i don't really know how to prepare her anymore with her comprehension at this stage. what do you wish you had done differently?
when my mom brought my sister home from the hospital i told her (at 2) they could take the baby back where it came from. my mom has never let me forget that one..but of course i couldn't imagine life without my wonderful sister now! :)

I'm sure that you did a GREAT job prepping Chloe for her new brother. It's hard to "practice" what it will be like during the transition weeks. I'm sure that it was tricky at times for all of you. At least, it was only for a season.
I must admit, I'm trying to "Be anxious for nothing" when I think about how Michael will do with his new brother, all of the details etc. We moms are typically such control freaks about certain things and it's often difficult to let God show us His will. I know that He cares about the details, I just forget sometimes:). I'm praying for you guys:).

This too shall pass! And you're right kids are so resilient. And soon they'll be running and playing together. And I enjoyed the birth story - wow! You deserve some complaining room - I detected a very grateful and joyful tone though too! :)
Your babies are so precious, Alicia! Hang in there with the potty training. Every kid is different in that area, and they each progress at a different rate. She'll have it down pat in no time, I'm sure.
