Last night I pulled out my baby/toddler cookbook to find some inspiration for a fun-for-Chloe mini pizza. And voila! This is what I came up with, an odd looking pizza bear. She really liked it and kept pointing and saying, "funny bear".This week I added another blog to my google reader list: goodyblog.com. It's a spin-off of Parents magazine and contains some interesting articles and giveaways. Cons: most of the "goodies" are way out of our price range and the author posts several times a day so it can fill up your reading list. Pros: posts are short and my curious soul enjoys seeing newest kid trends and unique toys (even if we can't afford them).
All that to say that goodyblog has recently featured some weekly posts on cute food:

Funny pizza bear didn't take much extra time so I might try my hand at some other cute foods. What novelty shapes/animals have you made with food for your children's pleasure?

What cute ideas! You are so creative.
Since Victoria is going to school all day, she can either bring a lunch or she can have hot lunch from the school. For only a buck 80 I was surprised at how much food she gets...anyway...so far she just wants her lunch from home so I had to become creative and that is something that I am not!!! I did get some cute cookie cutters and cut her sandwiches for her. I also print out little "love" notes to her on a napkin....she seems to like the special touch. ;)

The pizza idea is so very cute:). Chloe looks so adorable as she clearly loves her little pizza.
I will sometimes cut Michael's toast or sandwiches with an airplane cookie cutter. I guess that I don't really do too many creative things with Michael's food. He LOVES to "dip" things:). I'll give him a little dish with items like maple syrup, honey, greek dressing, pizza sauce etc. for him to dip the appropriate items into.
This is kind of a weird little thing but he loves to eat bread and pizza dough. While I am kneading the dough, he'll "knead" his own little piece and then eat it (no eggs in the dough though).
I was given some cute little jello molds and I'll sometimes make "juice jigglers" for him. I guess that the above things aren't necessarily incredibly creative. You've passed along some really cute ideas that I plan to put in my tickler file:).

Here goes -
Fruit Juice Blocks or Juice Jigglers
4 envelopes unflavored gelatin
1 cup cold fruit juice
3 cups fruit juice, heated to boiling
In bowl, sprinkle gelatin over the cold juice; allow to stand one minute. Add hot juice and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Pour into 13x9-inch pan; chill until firm. Cut into 1-inch squares. Makes about 9 dozen.
P.S. Shhh...don't tell little Michael but I have made these with half juice and half water. He still thinks that they are a special treat:).

you're such a great mom. I haven't been on anyone's blog for so long, so I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with your life today! Chloe is sooo funny. I love her drawing too! I don't even think my girls could draw eyes!! Do you know what you're having yet?? Maybe I didnt' scroll down far enough if you do know. Thanks for sharing the info about the cute-food!
