Moving ahead slowy on Christmas preparations

Whew.

Can you believe we're already entering the second week of December?

We have our Christmas decorations all up and the Christmas cards are getting written slowly. They're all addressed and I'm writing personal messages a little at a time so the task isn't so overwhelming.

I have one Christmas package completely done and ready to mail. Christmas pictures of the kids are scheduled for tomorrow.

I still have cookies to bake and several homemade gifts to make. And yes, I'm still delusional enough to think I'll get them all done in time. :)

Thankfully, God is helping me have a spirit of rest this holiday season. I'm working a little each night on Christmas projects and that's helping my brain feel productive and not stressed. Plus, we know the gifts aren't really what matter this Christmas. Enjoying our family and reflecting on the glorious good news of Jesus coming to earth is what it's all about.

What's on your Christmas to-do list?

I still have TONS to do! We decided to not put a tree up this year for the sole reason that Eli would tear it down - he's into EVERYTHING - gotta love the toddler years! So, that's not on the list thankfully! But I still have Cards to address and send, cookies to make, chex mix to make, presents to wrap, packages to mail (only 2 thankfully) and assemble Eli's new play kitchen (although that will be Vince mostly!). I was going to make gifts this year, but time got away from me. Next year, right? :-)

I started a cross stitch project in college (don't count how many years ago that was!) & I picked it back up last week while I was recooperating. I would love to finish it as a gift for my aunt & uncle for this year. If it's not done, I may wrap it up anyway & get it back from them ;-) So that's the biggest thing on my to-do list!

Slow down. Enjoy at least two days of no French studying. Find times where we can Skype with each of our family members (that's all I want for Christmas).

I've been running around doing endless errands and doing some for family members too! I'm hoping next week we can relax a little more and enjoy Christmas!
